Meet the Herd

  • Ranger

Ranger is a sensitive, thoughtful member of our herd who values space and steady energy. While he prefers freedom and calm over structure, spending time with him in the arena reveals a gentle, curious nature and a deep capacity for connection. Ranger reminds us that honoring individuality is essential to building trust, both with horses and with each other.

  • Buttercup

Buttercup is a 17-hand Belgian Draft horse and a true gentle giant. Known for her calm strength and playful curiosity, she brings a steady, reassuring presence to the herd. Buttercup is comfortable supporting a wide range of participants and is thoughtfully included in programs when her temperament and energy are well suited. She is Jenna’s personal horse and a cherished part of the Safe Haven Ranch herd.

  • Buster

Buster is a retired cutting horse with a big heart and an easygoing nature. Once a competitive athlete, he now enjoys a quieter pace and is known for his smooth presence and undeniable charm. Often found roaming the ranch alongside Jenna and the goats, Buster brings warmth, curiosity, and a sense of ease wherever he goes.

  • Zephyr

Zephyr is a 20-year-old Arabian bay gelding with an energetic spirit and a love for being involved. Whether he’s participating in riding lessons or heading out on the trail, he brings experience, enthusiasm, and connection. With his flowing mane and fondness for attention, scratches, and treats, Zephyr is a well-loved and steady presence in the herd.

  • Luna

Luna is 29 years young and brings a lifetime of experience and gentleness to the herd. After a wonderful career as a kids’ rodeo horse, she now enjoys a slower, intentional role at Safe Haven Ranch. Soft, wise, and steady, Luna will be thoughtfully partnered with one kiddo and included in select equine-assisted programs. We are so excited to have her as part of our herd and community.
